独立行政法人医薬品医療機器総合機構（PMDA）は、「ファーマコメトリクス（Pharmacometrics）」をテーマに、慶應義塾大学、PMDAの共催にて、米国のファーマコメトリクス領域の第一人者を招聘したPMDA-Keio Joint Symposium on Pharmacometricsを開催いたします。
近年の医薬品開発及び承認審査では、モデリングとシミュレーション（Modeling & Simulation; M&S）を活用した開発戦略及び定量的意思決定がより科学的で合理的な医薬品評価及び開発促進の観点から注目されております。本シンポジウムでは、米国のファーマコメトリクス領域の第一人者より、M&Sに関わる方法論、臨床での活用、米国FDAの審査や相談における活用など、最新の知見について講演を頂き、国内外の現状の共有を行なうこと、及び今後の展望について、製薬企業やアカデミア、規制当局の実務者がそれぞれの観点からの問題点の共有や意見交換を行うことを予定しています。
なお、本シンポジウムの開催費用の一部は国立研究開発法人日本医療研究開発機構（AMED）の医薬品等規制調和･評価研究事業の支援によって行われます。
