On November 28, the MHLW and PMDA held a webinar titled “PMDA-ATC & MHLW Webinar 2023 for Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” The webinar was the second PMDA-ATC (Asia Training Center for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Regulatory Affairs) Seminar and this was held based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between SFDA and MHLW and the areas of cooperation under the Saudi Japan VISION 2030.
The theme of the webinar was “Approval and registration system including expedited approval system” and “Orphan drug”. MHLW and PMDA shared the regulatory system and experiences in Japan with 7 regulators from SFDA.
PMDA continuously makes efforts to strengthen capacity of the SFDA’s technical staff by the PMDA-ATC training and also to strengthen collaborative relationship between the 2 countries.
