PMDA-ATC Medical Devices Webinar 2025 for AMDC

On October 17, the PMDA, in collaboration with the ASEAN Medical Device Committee (AMDC), held the “PMDA-ATC Medical Devices Webinar 2025 for AMDC”. The webinar aimed at providing an opportunity for medical device regulators in ASEAN Member States to deepen their knowledge of the medical devices regulatory system. A total of 62 regulators engaged in the review or standards of medical devices participated in the webinar.
The webinar was opened with remarks from Dr. Jun Matsumoto, Coordination Director, Office of Asia Training Center and International Cooperation. Subsequently, PMDA staff shared the experience of incorporating international standards in Japanese regulation and the regulatory framework. In the second lecture, PMDA review expert shared key review points of Software as a medical device (SaMD). In the Q&A session, participants actively asked questions and had practical discussions with the speakers.
